Philippine President Marcos and Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian attended and delivered speeches. Philippine Senator Zhang Qiaowei, Special Assistant to the President Ragdamio, Minister of Social Welfare and Development Zhang Qiaolun, Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Sebastian, Mayor of Valenzuela Zhang Qiaoli, Congressman Martinez and nearly 100 officials from relevant departments including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Budget and Management, the National Grain Administration, the Customs Bureau, the Finance Bureau, the Metropolitan Manila Development Council, the Port Authority, the Central Port of Manila, and the local agricultural directors of the five regions of Luzon Island join.
Philippine President Marcos said that when the Philippines made a request for fertilizer assistance, China extended a helping hand without hesitation. China’s fertilizer assistance will greatly help the Philippine agricultural production and food security. Just yesterday, China provided rice aid to those affected by the Mayon eruption. These are acts of kindness that the Filipino people can personally feel, and are conducive to consolidating the foundation of mutual trust and mutual benefit between the two sides. The Philippine side highly values the goodwill of the Chinese side. As the two countries approach the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Philippine side will always be committed to strengthening the long-term friendly relationship between the two countries.
